Ambience is created by good lighting of a scene, whether porn or straight film. But do not forget your models in the scene, since lighting should not overwhelm or hide them, and instead, emphasize them more.

Since you’re suggesting some camera movements, please avoid unnatural spotlights on the models’ “active” sexual parts. You can always enhance these shots — “fake” them, if you like — with good, clean splicing during editing. Don’t forget, many bad videos suffered a lot because of lack of patience in editing.

Anyway, all this is moot. I guess you could say that I don’t really have a choice. The genre I prefer to write in is either science-fiction, or fantasy, and they always get consigned to the popular section.

However, I don’t think writing a best-selling book is in anyway lacking when compared to writing literary ones. They’re just another story style, with different advantages and disadvantages. Anyone who tries to measure one against the other would have a hard time justifying his own conclusions. Arguing for concrete things are hard enough, but for an idea, well, that’s murky ground right there.

You are a terrific writer. Once suggestion – get rid of the last paragraph. Don’t explain how Jane got back to their daughter. It lessens the impact of the paragraph before it.
